We see that one meaning of glory is, “Shekinah, the glory of
the Lord…” (Thayer’s Greek Lexicon).
We see in the Old Testament that “the glory of the LORD
abode upon mount Sinai,” “the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle,” and “the
glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house.” (Exodus 24:16, Exodus 40:34-35,
2 Chronicles 7:2).
Isaiah prophesied,
"And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all
flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." -
Isaiah 40:5 KJV
In the New Testament, we find this prophesy fulfilled: the
glory of the LORD is revealed.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God. ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
full of grace and truth." - John 1:1, 14 KJV
"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of
darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the
glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." - 2 Corinthians 4:6 KJV
"And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name
was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation
of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the
Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
“And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the
parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, then
took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
“Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace,
according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast
prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and
the glory of thy people Israel." - Luke 2:25-32 KJV
