Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, celebrates the triumph of light over darkness. It is a holiday of transition: The original menorrah was placed within the from 7 lights concealed within the Temple, to 8 lights revealed for all the world to see. Lit each night by the shamash - the servant candle, light multiplies each night for 8 days - a # of elevation representing the Kingdom.

The Light of Chanukah

There are two Jewish holidays, not mandated in the Law, that signal the coming of Messiah and His Kingdom: the holiday of Purim (from the book of Esther) and Chanukah. Purim displays the triumph of Divine Mercy (via fulfillment of law) over Divine Justice/Judgment; Chanukah displays the transition of Divine Light, concealed within the Law, to manifestation by Messiah and His Kingdom, spreading Divine Light to all the world!
