Jesus told His disciples about the Holy Ghost. He called the
Holy Ghost the “Comforter” and the “Spirit of truth.” Jesus said, “Ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you
comfortless: I will come to you." (John 14:8-11,16-18, 26). The Spirit of
Jesus is the Holy Ghost.
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will
guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall
glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you." -
John 16:13-14 KJV
We find in the Bible those led by the Spirit.
Philip was led by the Spirit to preach to “a man of
Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians.” (Acts
8:26-28).
"Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join
thyself to this chariot." - Acts 8:29 KJV
Philip obeyed, and preached to him Jesus. (Acts 8:30-35).
The Ethiopian man received the gospel message and asked
Philip to baptize him.
"And as they went on their way, they came unto a
certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to
be baptized? ... And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went
down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized
him." - Acts 8:36, 38 KJV
When Philip completed His assignment from the Lord, being led
by the Holy Ghost, the Spirit “caught away” Philip.
"And when they were come up out of the water, the
Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he
went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through
he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea." - Acts 8:39-40
KJV
