The first man, Adam, sinned, bringing separation between God and man. (Romans 5:12).
"But your iniquities have separated between you and
your God, and your sins have hid his face from you..." - Isaiah 59:2
God saw the sad condition of man in his sinful state. He
looked and saw there was no human that could save mankind from his wretched
condition. So God Himself, His right arm of power, reached out and redeemed man
from his bondage to sin. (Acts 20:28).
"And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that
there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his
righteousness, it sustained him." - Isaiah 59:16
"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh
and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death
he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and
deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to
bondage." - Hebrews 2:14-15
God’s arm is a symbol of the body He made for Himself to
dwell among men. It represents power because by His body He paid the price of
sin by death to reconcile man back to Himself.
"Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm
of the LORD revealed? ... because he hath poured out his soul unto death; and
he bare the sin of many..." - Isaiah 53:1, 12
There would be no more division. God brought peace. That is
why when Jesus was born, the Father revealed in flesh, He was called the Prince
of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6). He came in power to bring man back to Himself.
"And, having made peace through the blood of his cross,
by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be
things in earth, or things in heaven." - Colossians 1:20
"And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in
your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh
through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his
sight: if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away
from the hope of the gospel…" - Colossians 1:21-23 (Acts 2:38).
"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them..." - 2 Corinthians 5:19
