We do not know when the Lord is coming back, but the Bible says He will come back unexpectedly. It is not time to delay, thinking there is a lifetime before we need to be ready. Continuing to live a worldly life is risking destruction.
"For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord
so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety;
then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child;
and they shall not escape." - 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3
Those who know the Truth, that grew up in church, have no
reason to be caught off guard and be lost. You need to realize Jesus can come
back anytime now. Remember who you are – a child of the King.
"But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day
should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the
children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness." - 1
Thessalonians 5:4-5
"Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us
watch and be sober." - 1 Thessalonians 5:6
Don’t let the world put you to sleep, making you think
living like the world is o.k. Wake up. Go to church. Pray. Read God’s word. Live for God.
"But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on
the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of
salvation." - 1 Thessalonians 5:8
We that know better, must stay alert to the trap of sin. We
must keep the faith, walk in love, and forgive. We stepped into the forgiveness
and protection of Jesus when we repented, were baptized in the name of Jesus for the
remission of sins, and received the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38). If you have taken
off this helmet of protection by living an unholy life, it is time now to put
the helmet of salvation back on. Return to Jesus and get filled once again with
His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, and live for God.
"For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain
salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ," - 1 Thessalonians 5:9
Hell was not made for us. Heaven is for us and for all those
that will live for Jesus.
