The Kingdom of God
From the beginning of His ministry, Jesus spoke of His
kingdom.
"And Jesus went about all the cities and villages,
teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and
healing every sickness and every disease among the people." - Matthew 9:35
KJV
Jesus taught that to enter His kingdom we must be born of
water and of the Spirit.
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the
kingdom of God." - John 3:5 KJV
Jesus gave the keys to His kingdom to Peter.
"And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of
heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." - Matthew
16:19 KJV
On the Day of Pentecost, Peter preached the keys to the
kingdom of how to be born of water and of the Spirit.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV
Philip preached of the kingdom of God.
"But when they believed Philip preaching the things
concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized,
both men and women." - Acts 8:12 KJV
Paul preached of the kingdom of God.
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the
kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall
inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but
ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by
the Spirit of our God." - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KJV
"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but
righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." - Romans 14:17 KJV
