"Know the Word of God, Know the God of the Word!"

As Christians we are to grow in our knowledge of God's Word, growing in our knowledge of God.

"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;" - Colossians 1:10 KJV

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." - 2 Peter 3:18 KJV

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." - Psalm 119:11 KJV

The people of Berea were eager to receive the word of God. They then searched the scriptures to find  Paul and Silas were teaching the truth. Because of this, many Jews believed, as well as many of the prominent Greek women and men.

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few." - Acts 17:11-12 KJV

Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, his son in the faith. He told him to study the word so that he could correctly explain the truth and receive God's approval.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." - 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

"Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." - 1 Timothy 4:16 KJV

Timothy had been taught the word from childhood. Timothy's knowledge of the word gave him the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Jesus.

"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." - 2 Timothy 3:15 KJV

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
