The Kingdom Part 2
Jesus went everywhere, preaching the kingdom of God.
"And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout
every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom
of God: and the twelve were with him," - Luke 8:1 KJV
When we enter the kingdom of God by being born of water and
of the Spirit to live our lives for God (John 3:5), we must not look back to
the world of sin.
"And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand
to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." - Luke
9:62 KJV
If we went to be secure in the kingdom, we must forgive
others, just as Jesus forgave us when we repented of our sins and was baptized
in His name for the remission of sins. (Acts 2:38, Mark 11:26).
"Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a
certain king, which would take account of his servants." - Matthew 18:23
KJV (Matthew 18:35). (See the whole story).
We find that to be in the kingdom of God, we must not only
initially get oil in our lamps (born of the Spirit - John 3:5), but we must
keep full of oil (full of the Holy Ghost - Acts 6:3).
"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten
virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom." -
Matthew 25:1 KJV (See the whole story).
The kingdom of God is not a physical kingdom; it is a
spiritual kingdom. We enter the kingdom by repentance, baptism in Jesus name,
and receiving the Holy Ghost. His kingdom is within us.
"And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the
kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God
cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there!
for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." - Luke 17:20-21 KJV
"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness,
and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." - Romans 14:17 KJV
