Jesus has all power. (Matthew 28:18)
Luke 4:14-15 “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit
into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round
about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.”
Jesus has power over satan.
Luke 4:31-37 “And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee,
and taught them on the sabbath days. And they were astonished at his doctrine:
for his word was with power.
“And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of
an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, saying, Let us alone; what
have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I
know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
“And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out
of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and
hurt him not.
“And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves,
saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the
unclean spirits, and they come out. And the fame of him went out into every
place of the country round about.”
Jesus gave power to His disciples.
Matthew 10:1 “And when he had called unto him his twelve
disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to
heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.”
Luke 10:1, 17-20 “After these things the Lord appointed
other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city
and place, whither he himself would come…
“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even
the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
“And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall
from heaven.
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means
hurt you.
“Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are
subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
Jesus has power to give eternal life.
Even greater power than authority over the devil, is the
power and authority to give eternal life to those that He has called, has
chosen, and are faithful.
John 17:2 “As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that
he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.”
Because Jesus paid the price of death for our sins on the
tree, we are able to receive eternal life by our repentance, our baptism in
Jesus name for the remission of our sins, and by receiving His gift of His Holy
Ghost. (Acts 2:38).
Even greater than having power over satan, we may rejoice
because our names are written in heaven!
