Heaven - Making preparation

If we want to go to heaven, we need to make preparation.

What do we do to make preparation?

The Bible says,

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." - Ephesians 6:10-11 KJV

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." - Ephesians 6:13 KJV

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;" - Ephesians 6:14-15 KJV

This last verse tells us that we are to have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

We must have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace in order to stand for God in this world, and to stand before Him in heaven.

Paul wrote that it is by the preparation of the gospel that we stand.

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;" - 1 Corinthians 15:1 KJV

It is by the preparation of the gospel we are also saved.

"By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:2 KJV

"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV

We prepare ourselves with the gospel when we obey the gospel of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." - Romans 6:3-4 KJV

It is called the gospel of peace, because by the gospel we have peace with God.

"And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself;" - Colossians 1:20 KJV

We put on our feet the preparation of the gospel as Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV

By the preparation of the gospel of Jesus, we have applied His blood, are called by His name, have received His Spirit, and by His power are able to stand and to keep from falling.

We have made preparation for heaven by His gospel of peace so that He can present us faultless before the presence of His glory.

"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." - Jude 1:24-25 KJV
