My Peace
The first peace that Jesus gives to us is the reconciliation
He brought us when He paid the price of sin on the cross. There is no peace
found in the world that compares to this peace!
"And, having made peace through the blood of his cross,
by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be
things in earth, or things in heaven." - Colossians 1:20 KJV
"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world
unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto
us the word of reconciliation." - 2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV
We find this peace with God when we repent of our sins and
are baptized in His name JESUS to wash our sins away by the blood He shed. Peter
preached this on the Day of Pentecost.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins..."
- Acts 2:38 KJV
The second peace that Jesus gives to us is when He fills us
with His Spirit.
When we are filled (and time again refilled) with His Spirit,
Jesus gives us His peace which passes understanding.
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7
KJV
"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but
righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." - Romans 14:17 KJV
Jesus gives us the promise of His Spirit when we repent of
our sins and we are baptized in Jesus name for the remission of our sins.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to
your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God
shall call." - Acts 2:38-39 KJV
The peace of His Spirit is not any peace that the world can
give us.
The peace of Jesus is worth more than any gold or riches that
the world could ever offer.
The peace Jesus gives us is peace through trials, peace
through pain and heartache, peace in disappointments and loss, peace in
whatever situation or need that we are faced with.
Without Jesus where would we be? Without His peace where
would we be?
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye
might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation [trials and sorrows]:
but be of good cheer [But take heart]; I have overcome the world." - John
16:33 KJV
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not
as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither
let it be afraid." - John 14:27 KJV
