When you are looking for God you want to know the way. You
want to know the Truth. You want to know how to find eternal life, and a better
life. (John 10:10).
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6 KJV
If we follow the way of the flesh of Christ, we will come to
the Spirit of Christ, the Father.
"If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father
also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." - John 14:7 KJV
We know the way of the flesh of Christ. He had to deny His
flesh and allow the Spirit of God that was in Him to accomplish His mission to
save the world which would take suffering and death on a cross.
"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will
come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow
me." - Matthew 16:24 KJV
We follow Christ by denying our flesh, saying no to sinful
desires. We crucify this lustful nature by repentance. We follow Christ’s
burial by water baptism in Jesus name. We follow Christ’s resurrection when we
receive the gift of His Spirit, the Holy Ghost.
"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into
Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by
baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the
glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we
have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in
the likeness of his resurrection: knowing this, that our old man is crucified
with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should
not serve sin." - Romans 6:3-6 KJV
This is the way to God.
"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world
unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them..." - 2 Corinthians
5:19 KJV
Because sin separates us from God, He put on a sinless human
body to pay the price of death for our sins so that we could return and have
peace with Him.
"For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness
dwell; and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to
reconcile all things unto himself..." - Colossians 1:19-20 KJV
Peter preached this message on the Day of Pentecost when the
church first began.
This is truth, and this is the way to God. This is how to
find eternal life, and a better life. This is how we can come unto the Spirit
of Jesus, the Father within Him.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to
all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." -
Acts 2:38-39 KJV
