Jesus brought peace to mankind by the gospel. The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. (1Cor.15:1-4)
Colossians 1:20 KJV - And, having made peace through the
blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say,
whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
We have peace with God by obeying the gospel. When we have
obeyed the gospel, we are no longer separated from God by sin.
(Is.59:2,16,Is.53:1,Ro.1:16,Col.1:5,2Tim.1:10)
We obey the gospel by turning away from sin by a repentant
heart. We bury our sins by water baptism in the name of Jesus. We receive the
gift of His Holy Ghost speaking in other tongues as His Spirit gives the
utterance. (Rom.6:1-6, Col.2:12,1Cor.6:11,Rev.1:5,Acts2:4,10:45-46,Acts2:38)
We are reconciled back to God when we have obeyed the
gospel. We are forgiven of our sins. God has filled us with His Spirit. We have
life and peace.
By staying full of the Holy Ghost, God’s Spirit, we keep the
peace we have with God, resisting sin and blameless.
Galatians 5:16 KJV - This I say then, Walk in the Spirit,
and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Romans 8:6 KJV - For to be carnally minded is death; but to
be spiritually minded is life and peace.
2 Peter 3:13-14 KJV - Nevertheless we, according to his
promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye
may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
