"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh
and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death
he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and
deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to
bondage." - Hebrews 2:14-15
We are set free from sin and death when we obey the gospel
as found in Acts 2:38!
"But is now made manifest by the appearing of our
Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and
immortality to light through the gospel:" - 2 Timothy 1:10
“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive
for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." - Revelation
1:18
"And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made
a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." - Colossians 2:15
We obey the gospel and are set free from the sin in our life
that brings death, when we obey Acts 2:38:
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38
By obeying the gospel, we have applied the blood of Jesus to
our life by water baptism in Jesus name, and have been filled with the Spirit
of Jesus when we received the Holy Ghost.
"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome
them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."
- 1 John 4:4
