God revealed the name that He would use to save not only His
people, but all of the world from sin.
"But while he thought on these things, behold, the
angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of
David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in
her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call
his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." - Matthew
1:20-21 KJV
This name of the Father is above every name. As foretold in
Isaiah,
"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the
earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word
is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me
every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear." - Isaiah 45:22-23 KJV
This name of the Father is Jesus.
"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of
things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that
every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father." - Philippians 2:10-11 KJV
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is
none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." -
Acts 4:12 KJV
"To him give all the prophets witness, that through his
name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." - Acts
10:43 KJV [He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone
who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.] (1
Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 6:1-6).
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV
