Church!

We need to be fed. When we have obeyed the gospel, we become as a newborn babe in Christ. The Bible says, we need the milk of the Word so we can grow.

"Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious." - 1 Peter 2:1-3 KJV

We have left behind sin by repentance, have buried it in baptism in Jesus name, and have been filled with new life by the Spirit of Jesus. (Acts 2:38-39). By the preaching of the Word of God, and by the power of His Spirit, we begin the growth process, learning how to live a holy life.

"And he gave some [Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church:], apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:" - Ephesians 4:11-12 KJV

"And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." - Jeremiah 3:15 KJV

As we grow, being faithful to the house of God to hear the preaching and teaching of the Word, applying it to our life, and being a witness to others, we may go on to perfection [maturity] with the meat of the word. (1 Corinthians 3:1-3, Hebrews 5:12-14, Hebrews 6:1-2).

"But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." - Hebrews 5:14 KJV

For we know Jesus loves us and wants us to be all He wants for us to be in His kingdom!

"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;" - Colossians 1:10 KJV
