The Bible says,
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the
kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators [sexual sin], nor
idolaters [worship idols], nor adulterers [commit adultery], nor effeminate
[male prostitutes], nor abusers of themselves with mankind [practice
homosexuality], nor thieves, nor covetous [greedy people], nor drunkards, nor
revilers [abusive], nor extortioners [cheat people], shall inherit the kingdom
of God." - 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 KJV
THEN, the Bible says, “And such WERE some of you…”
What is the change?
"…But ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are
justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." -
1 Corinthians 6:11 KJV
We are washed, we are sanctified, we are justified in the
name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God when we repent of our
sins, we are water baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of our sins,
and we are filled with the Spirit of our God, the Holy Ghost.
"And now why
tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the
name of the Lord." - Acts 22:16 KJV
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost;" - Titus 3:5 KJV
"That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the
Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles
might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost." - Romans 15:16
KJV
"That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing
of water by the word," - Ephesians 5:26 KJV [Thayer’s Greek Lexicon for
“word:” (others take ῤήματι here as equivalent to 'the gospel,' cf. Ephesians
6:17, Romans 10:8; (see Meyer at the passage))]
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to
your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God
shall call." - Acts 2:38-39 KJV
