Baptized Into Christ

 

                                                

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV

When we repent of our sins, are baptized in the name of Jesus and are filled with His Holy Ghost we have put on Christ.

We identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection by repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus, and Spirit baptism by receiving the gift of His Holy Ghost (speaking in tongues as His Spirit speaks through us). (Acts 2:4).

We become a new creature in Jesus. We have crucified and buried our old nature/old man of sin and have put on the new man, Christ Jesus. His Holy Spirit is in us. We walk in His Spirit. (Colossians 2:11-12).

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." - Romans 6:3-4 KJV

"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." - Romans 6:6 KJV
