"Then Peter said unto them, REPENT, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV
What did Paul say about CONTINUING in sin after we first come to God and repent?
Paul said, “GOD FORBID.”
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? GOD FORBID. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in NEWNESS of life.
Did Paul say here that it was alright to sin? NO. He said that “HENCEFORTH WE SHOULD NOT SERVE SIN.”
“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that HENCEFORTH WE SHOULD NOT SERVE SIN." - Romans 6:1-6 KJV
Christ died on the cross ONE time, NOT daily.
"And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts [have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there]." - Galatians 5:24 KJV
We put on the Lord Jesus Christ by repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus, and the infilling of His Spirit, the Holy Ghost.
"But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and MAKE NOT PROVISION FOR THE FLESH, to fulfil the lusts thereof." - Romans 13:14 KJV
"But now being made FREE FROM SIN, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." - Romans 6:22 KJV
When Paul said, “I die daily,” he was not saying he repented of sins daily; he was saying he RISKED HIS LIFE ON A DAILY BASIS. Read the verse in context: 1 Corinthians 15:30-31, 34. See also: Acts 14:19, 2 Corinthians 11:23-26, Romans 6:1-23.
