The Light

Jesus is our heavenly Father that robed Himself in a human body, to bring His mercy and love to the world. He came to save those that were in the darkness of condemnation from their sins.

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." - John 8:12 KJV

The light of Jesus appeared to Paul. Paul became a preacher of the gospel to the Gentiles.

"Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." - Acts 26:17-18 KJV

The gospel brought the Gentiles from the darkness of condemnation into the light of God’s mercy by the forgiveness of their sins by repentance, baptism in Jesus name, and the gift of the Holy Ghost.

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." - 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV

By their obedience to the gospel, the Gentiles also became God’s chosen people.

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar ["(God's own) possession"] people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." - 1 Peter 2:9-10 KJV

"For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:" - Ephesians 5:8 KJV

How do we obey the Gospel to become children of light?

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV
