Part 20

Part 20 I am baptized in the name of  Jesus because I want to be part of the body of Christ.

Our physical body is a metaphor of the body of Christ. Our physical body has a name and a spirit. BWhen we are baptized in the name of Jesus, His name is called upon us. When we are baptized with the Holy Ghost, we are filled with His Spirit. By baptism we become part of the body of Christ.

"So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." - Romans 12:5 KJV

"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ." - 1 Corinthians 12:12 KJV

"For the body is not one member, but many." - 1 Corinthians 12:14 KJV

Jesus is the head of His body and we with others that also have His name and Spirit are members of His body.

"And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence." - Colossians 1:18 KJV

"Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular." - 1 Corinthians 12:27 KJV

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:" - Ephesians 4:11-12 KJV
