Our Heavenly Father manifested Himself in flesh, dwelling
among His people when He was born as a human being. God humbled Himself and
made the incredible sacrifice of His life so that He could save us from sin and
death. He came in His name of salvation, Jesus, which is above every name.
(Acts 4:12, Philippians 2:6-11).
"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh
and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death
he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and
deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to
bondage." - Hebrews 2:14-15
We are set free from sin and death when we obey the gospel.
"But is now made manifest [His purpose and grace] by
the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath
brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:" - 2 Timothy
1:10
“I am he that liveth,
and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of
hell and of death." - Revelation 1:18
We use the keys when we obey the gospel – Acts 2:38 - and
are set free from the sin in our life that brings death and hell.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38
By obeying the gospel, we have applied the blood of Jesus to
our life by water baptism in the name of Jesus, and have been filled with the
Spirit of Jesus when we received the Holy Ghost.
"Ye are of God,
little children, and have overcome them [those that have the spirit of
antichrist]: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the
world." - 1 John 4:4
"And they overcame him [satan] by the blood of the
Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…." - Revelation 12:11
We overcome by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus
[the gospel - the blood of the Lamb], and by the word of our testimony of our
repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus for the remission of our sins, and of
our infilling of the Holy Ghost [our obedience of the gospel].
