“Choose you this day whom you will serve.”

Will you serve Jesus, loving Him with all of your heart, soul, strength, and mind?

"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." - Romans 6:6 KJV

We choose to serve Jesus when we repent and bury our sinful nature by being water baptized in the name of Jesus. Jesus gives us His power to keep from sin when He fills us with His Spirit. We then need to walk in His Spirit daily to keep from serving sin. (Acts 2:38-39, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4).

"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." - Galatians 5:16 KJV

This kind of choice is a lifetime choice. It is a choice that takes commitment. It is not a choice that we have to decide each day if we are going to keep our commitment or not; it is a commitment that we make for a lifetime. (Acts 2:38, 1John 4:4, 1 John 5:4).

"Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world [you used to live in sin like the world], according to the prince of the power of the air [the devil], the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience [those who refuse to obey God]: among whom also we all had our conversation [used to live that way] in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind [our sinful nature]; and were by nature the children of wrath [headed to judgment], even as others." - Ephesians 2:2-3 KJV

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us [gave us life] together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)" - Ephesians 2:4-5 KJV

Everyone needs to make the choice, for our choice determines our future - in this life, and beyond this life. (John 12:26, Colossians 3:24, Ephesians 2:6-7, Matthew 6:24).

Choose you this day whom you will serve!
