We have turned our back on sin, we have been baptized in the
name of Jesus to wash our sins away, and we have received the gift of His
Spirit (Acts 2:38, Acts 2:4).
To live a victorious life, overcoming sin and being used by
God in His kingdom, we will learn to be led by His Spirit.
Jesus will lead us in our conversation - to not say what we
were about to say, or led to say what the Lord is giving us to say.
Jesus will lead us in our actions - to do what He would have
us to do, or to not do what we were headed to do.
Jesus will lead us in our thoughts - to stop thinking about
something, or to put our thoughts on what he would have us think about.
Jesus will lead us in our prayers - putting a person on our
mind, putting a situation on our mind.
"Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh,
to live after the flesh [we have no obligation to do what our sinful nature
urges us to do].
“For if ye live after the flesh [by the dictates of your
sinful nature], ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds
of the body [put to death the deeds of your sinful nature], ye shall live.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the
sons of God." - Romans 8:12-14 KJV
