Son of God

 

The Bible speaks of Jesus as being the only begotten son of God.

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." - John 1:14 KJV

When Jesus was born as a baby, He was holy, and without sin.

"And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." - Luke 1:35 KJV

He was full of the Father’s Spirit.

"For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;" - Colossians 1:19 KJV

He was given His Father's name - Jesus.

"I am come in my Father's name…” - John 5:43 KJV

Jesus was the only one that was BORN the Son of God.

We BECOME sons of God when we are BORN AGAIN.

"He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." - John 1:11-13 KJV

We are born of God and become a son of God when we are water baptized in the name of Jesus and are Spirit baptized with His Holy Ghost. (James 1:18).

When we are born again of the water, baptized in the NAME of JESUS for the remission of sins, we become without sin, as Jesus is. (Acts 2:38).

"And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." - Acts 22:16 KJV

We are given the Father’s name – JESUS – when we are water baptized in the name of Jesus. (James 2:7, Acts 15:17).

When we are born again of the Spirit, filled with His Holy Ghost, we become holy, as Jesus is.

"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father." - Galatians 4:6 KJV
