Part 3 The Kingdom
We see in our day what the Bible says, "But evil men
and seducers shall wax worse and worse…” (2 Timothy 3:13)
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times
shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural
affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of
those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than
lovers of God;" - 2 Timothy 3:1-4 KJV
What is the answer to this?
God’s solution for this evil world is for His kingdom to
come and for His will to be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10). This is how Jesus said we are
to pray.
The Bible says that the Lord has not returned yet because it
is not His will that any perish. It is His will that all will return to Him by
repentance.
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some
men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9 KJV
It is God’s desire that the evil people of this world repent
and come into His kingdom. It is by the Gospel – being born of water and of the
Spirit – that evil people will become washed of their sins, sanctified, and
justified by the blood of Jesus through His name in baptism, and by the
infilling of His Spirit. (John 3:5, Acts 22:16, Romans 15:16, Acts 2:38).
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the
kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall
inherit the kingdom of God.
“And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are
sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the
Spirit of our God." - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KJV
