"Knowing this, that our old man [our old sinful self] is crucified with him [Jesus], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." - Romans 6:6 KJV

We kill sin in our life by repentance, getting water baptized in Jesus name to bury our sins, and receiving the gift of God’s Spirit, the Holy Ghost, to live a NEW life. When we repent and are baptized in the name JESUS, we make a COVENANT with Him that we HENCEFORTH will not serve sin.

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:" - Romans 6:3-5 KJV

His gift to us is His Spirit, His power to live above sin.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV

"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." - Acts 2:39 KJV

Because we have killed sin in our life, and walk in the power of the Holy Ghost, we become a witness for Jesus. Our life is changed. We have a new commitment and a new relationship with God.

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." - Acts 1:8 KJV

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." - Philippians 4:13 KJV
