Spiritual Warfare

If we want to be strong in the Lord, we must put on the whole armor of God. Our battle is not with people, but against evil forces of the unseen world. Therefore, our armor is spiritual.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." - Ephesians 6:12 KJV

Our loins need a covering of truth. The loins are a place of reproduction. For spiritual reproduction, we need a covering of truth. The truth of one God and the gospel of our salvation is essential in our spiritual reproduction. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1Corinthians 15:1-4, Acts 2:38)

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…" - Ephesians 6:14 KJV

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." - John 14:6-7 KJV

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." - 2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV

"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," - Ephesians 1:13 KJV

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV

We must have the breastplate of righteousness protecting our heart and lungs.

"…and having on the breastplate of righteousness;" - Ephesians 6:14 KJV

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." - 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV

It is by the gospel that we find peace with God, for He reconciled us back to Himself. It is by the gospel that we are able to stand. In order for us to stand our feet must be shod with the TRUE gospel.

"And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;" - Ephesians 6:15 KJV

"And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself…" - Colossians 1:20 KJV

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;" - 1 Corinthians 15:1 KJV

"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ." - Galatians 1:6-7 KJV

We must have faith and trust in God as our deliverer from ANY attack of the enemy. What fiery darts does our faith in God quench? Anger, grief, lust, fear, doubt, confusion, false accusations, guilt, jealousy, hate.

"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." - Ephesians 6:16 KJV

"And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; the God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence." - 2 Samuel 22:2-3 KJV

By our repentance, baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, we have put on protection of our mind. It is by our mind that our body takes direction. We cannot survive without our mind. We cannot survive without salvation.

"And take the helmet of salvation…" - Ephesians 6:17 KJV

"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;" - Hebrews 2:1-3 KJV

"For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ." - 1 Corinthians 2:16 KJV

Just as Christ attacked the devil in his temptation with the word of God, so must we. We attack with the word as well as with the Spirit by praying in the spirit.

"…And the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:" - Ephesians 6:17 KJV

"And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." - Luke 4:3-4 KJV

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" - Ephesians 6:18 KJV

By putting on the whole armor of God we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11) We may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

We must be ready for battle.
