Jesus gives us the power we need to overcome sin in our life.

When we turn to Jesus and away from a lifestyle of sin, and are baptized in His name Jesus, He forgives us and washes away all of our sins. When He fills us with His Holy Ghost, He gives us the power we need to overcome sin.

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." - Acts 1:8

It is through His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, that we mortify the deeds of our body, putting to death our old sinful habits that we had when we were “living after the flesh.”

"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." - Romans 8:13

Jesus promises us His Holy Ghost when we repent and are baptized in His name.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." - Acts 2:38-39

When we are connected to Jesus, full of His Spirit, we not only have the power to overcome sin in our life, but the power to be fruitful in the kingdom of God.

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." - John 15:5 KJV
