When we water baptize, we are to OBEY the command of Jesus NOT baptize by repeating His command.

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" - Matthew 28:18-19 KJV

Jesus said, to baptize in the NAME.

What is the NAME of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?

JESUS.

His disciples understood Jesus and OBEYED Him: they baptized in the NAME of JESUS.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV
