The devil appears AS a roaring lion, PRETENDING to be our judge, and trying to put FEAR in believers. (It appears the lion represents God as our judge and His attribute of justice).

But those that have obeyed the Gospel, have Jesus as their Defense Attorney (the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost – ‘Defense Attorney’ is a meaning of ‘Comforter’) that pleads His blood for us. While satan is the Prosecutor, Jesus as our Defense Attorney pleads His blood that is upon us that we have from our water baptism in Jesus name.

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood," - Revelation 1:5 KJV

The devil lost his power when Jesus died on the tree for our sins.

"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." - Hebrews 2:14-15 KJV

The devil is the accuser, but OUR JUDGE is the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ!! (It appears the Lamb represents God’s attribute of mercy). (James 2:13, Revelation 5:5-12).

"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night." - Revelation 12:10 KJV

"And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth." - Revelation 5:6 KJV

Because we have applied the blood of Jesus when we were baptized in Jesus name, we are judged by God’s MERCY.

We must continue to be sober and vigilant- not slipping back into sin, because our adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. We resist the devil by being stedfast in the faith.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world." - 1 Peter 5:8-9 KJV
