We have repented of our sins. We have been baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of our sins. We have received the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38, Acts 2:4).
Now what?
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.
“How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." - Romans 6:1-4 KJV
How do we “walk in newness of life”?
We have received new life in Jesus when we received the gift of His Spirit. Now we need to walk in His Spirit, in our new life in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 4:22-24, Ephesians 5:8, Colossians 3:10, 1 John 2:6).
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." - Galatians 5:16 KJV
When we are full of the Holy Ghost, we have God’s power within to overcome sin in our life and become a witness of our new life in Jesus.
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me..." - Acts 1:8 KJV (Luke 24:49).
"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." - Galatians 5:25 KJV
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." - Romans 8:1 KJV (Revelation 17:14).
