We hear the good news of the gospel.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV
We put sin to death in our life.
We bury our sins and sinful nature by water baptism by immersion in the name of JESUS for the forgiveness of our sins.
We are filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives us the ability, so that we can live a holy and overcoming life.
"But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine [Acts 2:38] which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness [righteous living]." - Romans 6:17-18 KJV
"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." - Romans 6:22 KJV
"For if ye live after the flesh [sinful nature], ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify [put to death] the deeds of the body [sinful nature], ye shall live." - Romans 8:13 KJV
"And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts [put to death the passions and desires of their sinful nature]." - Galatians 5:24 KJV
