One of the disciples of Jesus said to Him,
"Lord, teach us to pray..."
Jesus taught them to pray TOGETHER:
(CAPS,my emphasis)
"After this manner therefore pray ye: OUR Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give US this day OUR daily bread. And forgive US OUR debts, as WE forgive OUR debtors. And lead US not into temptation, but deliver US from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." - Matthew 6:9-13
We as the church though many members, are ONE TOGETHER.
"So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." - Romans 12:5
"Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular." - 1 Corinthians 12:27
"And he is the head of the body, the church..." - Colossians 1:18a
As the early church did, we come together - To worship the Lord with singing, thanksgiving, and praise, to hear the preaching of the Word, to fellowship and to encourage one another. And so much the more, as we see the day of the return of Jesus approaching!
TOGETHER -
Church! Let us exalt His name Jesus together!
"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." - Hebrews 10:24-35
"...that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;" - Philippians 1:27
"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." - 1 Thessalonians 4:17
"Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
