When we have been born again, we have been born into royalty. Jesus has chosen us. We are of His royal priesthood. We belong to Him, His own special treasure.

We are born again when we are water baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sins and are filled with His Spirit, His Holy Ghost. (John 3:3, 5, Acts 2:38) This is how we are born of water and of the Spirit.

Before we were born again, we were in darkness. We were not His chosen people. We faced His judgment for our sins.

When Jesus called us, we turned to Him by repentance. When we were baptized for remission of our sins in His name, He brought us into His marvelous light of mercy, filling us with His Holy Spirit.

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." - 1 Peter 2:9-10

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." - Acts 2:38-39
