It’s not how we started this race that counts in the end, but how we finish.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…" - 2 Timothy 4:7 KJV
We must remind ourselves as the Day of the Lord draws closer, it is not time to slack or compromise. It is time to stay prayed up, be the prayer warrior, minister, soul winner that we are called to be.
"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." - Galatians 6:9 KJV
If we’ve let down a little, we must take heed:
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh [live only to satisfy their own sinful nature] shall of the flesh reap corruption [will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature]; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." - Galatians 6:7-9 KJV
"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;" - Ephesians 5:15-19 KJV
Another translation: "So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
“Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts." - Ephesians 5:15-19 NLT
We must remember to be soul winners while there is still time. We must not “sleep,” being content with our blessings and putting the work of God on a “back burner.”
"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance [a door for the word], to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds [chains]: that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak [Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should].
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without [those who are not believers], redeeming the time [making the most of every opportunity]. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt [with wisdom and grace], that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." - Colossians 4:2-6 KJV
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." - 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." - 2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV
