The Root of Bitterness

Bitterness is an evil root!  It can cause separation from man and God.  It defiles many and leaves them lost and undone.

What is the remedy?  A full dose of the Holy Ghost - the love of Jesus on the inside, cleansing and healing the offended spirit, washing away the bitterness with His love and forgiveness.

"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;" - Hebrews 12:14-15

"Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye." - Colossians 3:13

"Put on therefore, as the elect of God [chosen], holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering [patience]; forbearing [having patience with] one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye [so you forgive others].

“And above all these things put on charity [God’s love], which is the bond of perfectness [uniting us into a spiritually mature church/body of Christ]. And let the peace of God [peace/reconciliation/forgiveness we have with God and His peace/reconciliation/forgiveness we have with others] rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body [unity in the body of Christ, the church]; and be ye thankful." - Colossians 3:12-15

"Endeavouring [make every effort] to keep the unity of the Spirit [no division over offenses] in the bond of peace [united together by forgiveness/mercy/love/peace]." - Ephesians 4:3

"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all....

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting [maturing, spiritual growth] of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying [spiritually building up] of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith [unity of brothers and sisters in the truth] , and of the knowledge of the Son of God [if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also, Phil. 3:10-11], unto a perfect [spiritually mature] man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ [all the fullness of the Spirit in us]:" - Ephesians 4:4-6, 11-13

"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." - Hebrews 10:23-25
