Why should I go to church?
1. I should go to church to hear the gospel. (1Corinthians 15:1-4).
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" - Romans 10:13-15 (1Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 6:1-4, Acts 2:38).
2. I should go to church to obey the gospel.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation." - Acts 2:38-40
3. I should go to church to praise, worship, and give thanks to the One true God, His name is Jesus.
"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." - Psalm 100:4
4. I should go to church to grow in knowledge of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting [equipping] of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:" - Ephesians 4:11-12 (1 Peter 2:2, 2 Peter 3:18).
5. I should go to church to learn how I put on the whole armour of God so that I can stand against the tricks of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10-18).
6. I should go to church to fellowship with the people of God.
"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." - Acts 2:42 (Hebrews 10:24-25).
