When you are looking for God you want to know the way. You want to know the truth. You want to know how to find a better life and how to find eternal life. (John 10:10).
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6
If we follow the way of the flesh of Christ, we will come to the Spirit of Christ, the Father.
"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." - Matthew 16:24
We follow Christ by denying our flesh. We deny our flesh by repentance, regretting the sins of our past, turning from sinful desires to pleasing God, crucifying our old lustful nature.
We follow Christ’s burial by water baptism in the name of Jesus.
We follow Christ’s resurrection by receiving the gift of His Spirit, the Holy Ghost.
"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: knowing this, that our old man [old sinful nature] is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." - Romans 6:3-6
Peter preached this message of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection on the Day of Pentecost when the church first began.
This is truth, and this is the way to God. This is how to find a better life and eternal life. This is how we can come unto the Spirit of Jesus, the Father within Him. (John 14:7, Colossians 1:19-20, 2Corinthians 5:19).
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." - Acts 2:38-39
