It was in the last day, that great day of the Feast of Tabernacles that Jesus stood and cried, calling for those that thirst to come to Him, speaking of the outpouring of His Spirit that believers should receive.
The Feast of Tabernacles is a festival of rejoicing. Three times the Bible
repeats to rejoice and bring others to rejoice.
"Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The
fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven
days unto the LORD...and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven
days." - Leviticus 23:34, 40 KJV
"Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days…And
thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy
manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the
fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates…because the LORD thy God
shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands,
therefore thou shalt surely rejoice." - Deuteronomy 16:13-15 KJV
On the last day of the feast Jesus chose to prophecy of His
Spirit, the Holy Ghost, which He would pour out.
There is joy and rejoicing in the Holy Ghost!
"And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the
Holy Ghost." - Acts 13:52 KJV
"And when they were come up out of the water, the
Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he
went on his way rejoicing." - Acts 8:39 KJV
"And when he had brought them into his house, he set
meat before them, and rejoiced
"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but
righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." - Romans 14:17 KJV
"And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having
received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:" - 1
Thessalonians 1:6 KJV
"Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye
see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of
glory:" - 1 Peter 1:8 KJV
