The Lord is good and His mercy endureth forever.

God is good and loves us very much. It is because of God’s goodness that we can turn to Him and find forgiveness. (Romans 2:4)

God is merciful – His love for us is steadfast love. It is because of God’s mercy and love that He fills us with His Holy Ghost.

"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee." - Psalm 86:5 KJV

When all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished, and the priests brought in the ark of the covenant into the most holy place, as the singers as one lifted up their voice and praised the LORD, saying, “For he is good; for his mercy endureth forever,” the house of the LORD was filled with a cloud so that the priests were not able to stand to minister. For the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God. (2 Chronicles 5:1-14).

When the goodness and enduring mercy [steadfast love] of the LORD was declared, His glory filled the house!

Then King Solomon kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven, praying a prayer asking the LORD to forgive the people when they would turn from their sin, praying toward the LORD’s house that was built for His name, confessing His name. At the end of his prayer, Solomon reminded the LORD of His mercy [His unfailing love] towards his father David. (2 Chronicles 6:1-42).

"O LORD God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant." - 2 Chronicles 6:42 KJV

Once again, the LORD’s mercy was declared and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

"Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

“And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house.

“And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever." - 2 Chronicles 7:1-3 KJV

Jesus hears us when we call His name. "For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee." - Psalm 86:5 KJV

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." - Acts 2:38-39 KJV
