Choices

God calls us. (Matthew 22:14). We turn our back on the world and sin, and turn to Jesus. We are sorrowful for our sins and repent. We are baptized by immersion in water in Jesus name, the blood of Jesus washing away our sins (Acts 8:38, Acts 2:38, Revelation 1:5). We receive the gift of His Spirit, being filled with His Holy Ghost, speaking with other tongues, as His Spirit gives us utterance. (Acts 2:4, Acts 2:38)

We have made choices. (Joshua 24:15). We love Jesus. We realize Jesus loves us. (1John 4:19). He loves us very, very much. We were facing the darkness of judgment and justice for our sins, but Jesus paid the price of death for our sins, and brought us into the light of His mercy. (1Peter 2:9-10). Jesus chose us to be His beloved, filling us with His Spirit. (2Thessalonians 2:13, Acts 2:38).

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." - 1 John 2:15-16

"And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." - 1 John 2:17

We should not be surprised if our friends turn their backs on us, when we quit sinning and start living for God. Jesus has chosen us.

"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you." - John 15:18-19

We have answered His call and chosen to change our life from doing the things of the world, lustful, sinful pleasures. We have chosen to live for Jesus. We have chosen eternal life. (1 John 2:17, John 10:10). We have chosen to be faithful.

"These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful." - Revelation 17:14
