When we have been baptized in Jesus name and filled with His Spirit, we have put on Christ.

"For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." - Galatians 3:27

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The understanding of who Jesus is comes from revelation from God.

"And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven." - Matthew 16:17 KJV

Jesus gave Peter the keys of the kingdom of heaven.

"And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." - Matthew 16:19 KJV

When Peter preached to the Jews the gospel of Jesus, they were pricked in their heart and asked, “What shall we do?” Peter then shared with them the keys of the kingdom of heaven.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV

It was when Peter understood who Jesus is, that Jesus gave Peter the keys of heaven. On the day of Pentecost, Peter used this revelation from God to preach the gospel message of the name of Jesus that saves the world.

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." - Acts 4:12 KJV

Jesus did not tell His disciples in Matthew 28:19 to “baptize in the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost.”

Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 28:19 to “baptize in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

The Bible tells us the NAME of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is JESUS.

"I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive." - John 5:43 KJV

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." - Matthew 1:21 KJV

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." - John 14:26 KJV

On the Day of Pentecost, when the church began, Peter obeyed Jesus’ COMMAND in Matthew 28:19 and baptized in His NAME:

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38 KJV

"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls." - Acts 2:41 KJV

"And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him." - Acts 5:32

Jesus promises us His Holy Ghost when we repent of our sins and are baptized in Jesus name.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
