How can bad traffic, impatient people, or kids testing your patience be situations to give thanks for?
These situations are tests so we may demonstrate our love for Jesus, and be a witness to others of His Spirit.
"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV
The easiest way to pass these tests is to be full of the Holy Ghost, which is God’s Spirit. (Acts 2:38)
"This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. ... But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." - Galatians 5:16, 22-24 KJV
("So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. ... But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives." - Galatians 5:16, 22-25 NLT)
In every situation, praying for ourselves and others.
"Be careful for nothing [Don’t be anxious about anything]; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7 KJV
("and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7 NKJV)
“God's plans for us are so complex and deep, and always bless others as well as ourselves…”
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." - Isaiah 55:9 KJV
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28 KJV
In every trying situation, we can keep the victory by calling on Jesus for His help.
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." - Philippians 4:13 KJV
And in all situations, keeping the joy of the Lord in our hearts.
"… for the joy of the LORD is your strength." - Nehemiah 8:10 KJV
"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." - James 1:2-4 KJV
