God created the universe. We call Him our Father. There is only one God. God’s name that is above all names is “Jesus,” for in His name “Jesus” God took on the form of flesh so that He could shed blood for our sins, destroying him who had the power of death - the devil, and delivering us from the bondage that resulted from fear of death and condemnation because of our sins. This body of flesh that God dwelt in is also called the Son of God.
"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." - Hebrews 2:14-15 KJV
Before God came in flesh to redeem us, sin had separated us from Him. God made peace between us and Himself by the blood He shed on the cross.
"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." - Acts 20:28 KJV
This body of flesh is the image of the invisible God, in which all the fullness of God dwelt. If we want to see what the invisible God looks like, we look at Christ, His body of flesh.
"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail [mourn] because of him. Even so, Amen." - Revelation 1:7 KJV
When we become called by His name by being baptized in Jesus name, and when we are filled with the baptism of His Spirit, we become the body of Christ here on earth. The church is the body of Christ. The church is not a building, but rather the church is all believers that are baptized in Jesus name and filled with His Spirit. Christ is the head of the church, and we as believers are members of His body. He is the firstborn among many brethren.
"Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular." - 1 Corinthians 12:27 KJV
Because God is in Christ, we can say all things were created by Him.
"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: and he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
"And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;" - Colossians 1:13-23
What is the gospel that was preached by the apostles, and how do we have the hope of the gospel?
Peter preached the gospel on the Day of Pentecost, and this is what he said to do.
"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. ... Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." - Acts 2:36-38, 41-42 KJV
