Justice and Mercy part 5
In His mercy, God supplied a temporary covering for Adam and
Eve’s sin. But, the shedding of blood of innocent animals in place of man could
only temporarily take care of man’s sin problem. (Genesis 3:21)
"For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of
goats should take away sins." - Hebrews 10:4 KJV
God’s justice required a man without sin to pay the price of
man’s sin with death.
God looked for a man without sin that could pay the price,
but there was no one.
Therefore God Himself brought salvation, because only He is
righteous and without sin, and with a love beyond our imagination that was
willing to suffer and die a horrid death for you and me.
"And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that
there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his
righteousness, it sustained him." - Isaiah 59:16 KJV
The arm of the Lord represents God’s power, especially His
power to redeem.
"Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the
LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I
will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out
arm, and with great judgments:" - Exodus 6:6 KJV
While the arm of the Lord brought the children of Israel out
of cruel bondage of Egypt, the arm of the Lord would now bring all of mankind
out of the bondage of sin and death.
