"Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring
an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of
holiness." - 1 Chronicles 16:29 KJV
When Abraham went in obedience to offer his son Isaac to the
Lord as a sacrifice, Abraham called it worship.
"And Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here
with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come
back to you."" - Genesis 22:5 NKJV
God provided Himself a ram for the burnt offering in place
of Isaac. Isaac had allowed himself to be bound as an offering to God, but because
God provided the ram to take his place, Isaac became a living sacrifice.
When we worship God, we give our heart and our life to Him. God
came in the form of man in His name “JESUS”, the “LORD our Savior”, as a Lamb
to take our place and die as a sacrifice for our sins.
We in turn are a living sacrifice, allowing ourselves to be
bound from living for the world and the things it offers us, and loosed to live
a holy life unto God.
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of
God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." - Romans 12:1-2 KJV
When we give our life to Jesus by repenting of our sins, by
being baptized in JESUS name for the remission of our sins, and by receiving
the gift of His holy Spirit, we are able to worship Him as a set apart, holy,
living sacrifice. (Acts 2:38, Acts 2:4, Acts 1:8, Psalm 4:3)
"Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name;
worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness." - Psalm 29:2 KJV
