The LORD our God is one LORD – His name is Jesus. He is
Spirit that robed Himself in flesh so He could redeem us back to Himself by
shedding His blood. He is our shepherd.
"A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not
want." - Psalms 23:1
"Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and
his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before
him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with
his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with
young." - Isaiah 40:10-11
"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the
flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the
church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." - Acts 20:28
Jesus made us. He is our shepherd. He gave His life for us.
"Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath
made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his
pasture." - Psalms 100:3
"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his
life for the sheep." - John 10:11
"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the
tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose
stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned
unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." - 1 Peter 2:24-25
He is coming back for those that follow Him.
"And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall
receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away." - 1 Peter 5:4
"When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall
ye also appear with him in glory." - Colossians 3:4
How shall we prepare for His coming?
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38
"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and
to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." -
Acts 2:39
"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles'
doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." - Acts
2:42
