"And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." - Luke 24:44-49 KJV

The Old Testament is the Jewish Bible. Throughout the Old Testament, starting from the very beginning of Genesis in the Garden of Eden, it was written of Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection. It was here that God gave the promise that one day, the seed of the woman would bruise the head of the serpent, the devil.

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." - Genesis 3:15 KJV

"But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons." - Galatians 4:4-5 KJV

God said that the seed of the woman would bruise the head of the devil. Christ – God manifest in flesh – was the seed of the woman. He gave a deathblow to the head of the devil when His heel was bruised by His suffering and death on the cross, and then on the third day rising from the dead.

"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." - Hebrews 2:14-15 KJV
